Yakitate Japan is about a young Japanese baker named Azuma Kazuma. Having the dream of making a Japanese bread he sets off in search of a job within the famous Pantasia bread corporation. With his “solar hands” which are much warmer than the hands of an average person combined with his creative and enthusiastic attitude Azuma hopes to one day make the would acknowledge a type of bread as being authentically Japanese.

The story may sound serious but the anime is not. This series is packed with comedy much of which normal viewers will not understand. Yakitate Japan is filled with parody of Japanese culture such as the popular Dragon Ball series, One Piece, Naruto and even Pepsi-Man. (A famous character from a Japanese Pepsi commercial) I can honestly say this isn’t the best anime Ive seen but I managed to finish it anyway. Unless your interested in baking I would suggest that this isn’t for you. If your after humor there are many other anime serials out there such as Full Metal Panic Fumoffu which will give you endless laughter.

I didn’t mind Yakitate Japan that much, I guess it was ok but I agree there are much better comedy anime out there.

Hey, yakitate wasn’t that bad. It makes baking hardcore. The only problem about this anime is it gets tiring at the very end, just like a filler-arc.

Yakitate Japan was pretty good for the first few eps. It reminded me of cooking master boy. Though it got kinda boring afterwards.

This anime gets quite boring as it progresses though you still get a few laughs with the parody of onepiece, naruto etc.

I thought it was actually pretty good. I liked the whole idea, plus all the theories behind their masterpieces. And most of the characters were hilarious!

i thought yakitate was hi-la-ri-ous!! The reactions are so funny! Of course, i’m very impatient with anime (i almost _always_ stick with reading the manga) so i fast-forwarded through some of the episodes. But it’s still pretty good, i would recommend it for those who’re looking for a series to plunge into.

also, it’s not super-long like most of the shonen manga-adapted series (ES21, Bleach, Naruto, Detective Conan, etc)!

Yakitate is super funny! I think if you aren’t asian/ japanese you won’t get most of the jokes so dont bother watching. But if you are, it’s great! I like this anime like crazy. Except for the last arc, which was quite a drag.

i acually really fell in love with this anime its super funny seriously tho i can’t believe i would enjoy an anime bout bread…. it’s a really nice show, but it made me hungry! lol

Hehe, I was just browsing. I didn’t pay attention to this anime, but was only half glad when it came out. I think I was finishing vol16 of the manga at that time, though I found the manga extremely funny! The 15 episodes I watched were so-so, but not ROFL material.

Lol! I love this anime ~ Even though it got a bit boring at the end i thought it was super funny ~ I’d recomend this for people looking for a laughoh and i love the “Heaven” reaction thing XD !
