Name: Samurai Champloo
Genre: Action
Year: 2004
Rating: Must See
From the director of Cowboy Bebop brings you a thrilling story of two swordsmen on the verge of execution. However they are saved from their demise by a girl working at a teahouse. In return for saving them Fuu asks that they join her journey in finding the “samurai with a scent of a sun flower.” This series is unique in the sense that it mixes modern Japanese hip-hop music with samurai swordplay. Much in the same way Spike in Cowboy Bebop was fused with blues and jazz, Mugen brings us swift sword action break dance style.

This series is the best samurai anime I’ve ever seen, it even beats the original Kenshin series. Samurai Champloo is a must see for all anime fans, it tops the action genre effortlessly. With a combination of fast paced slicing action and comic freestyle fighting moves the show is able to appeal to any type of audience. If you haven’t seen this yet, you are missing out on quality entertainment.
