what can i say, its a great series !! where do you get the movie from? im dyying to watch it !!

Good review, though I’d beg to differ on the following:\
“First of all its amazing that Taro is able to top the class whilst managing to juggle several part time jobs, in addition being poor isn’t exactly anyones preference of lifestyle however Taro seems to be content just having the basics as long as he is able to keep his family smiling. Unrealistic though it may be this series has many good points in terms of a drama.”\

Has anyone here visited the Philippines and gone to the slums of Manila? Taro’s house would look like a nice apartment in comparison. I personally know of a friend, a former roommate in university who was from the slums but still managed to be at the top of his class despite several responsibilities. Juggling part-time jobs and schooling despite of poverty is commonplace here in the Philippines. I wouldn’t be surprised if the same thing has occurred in Japan, where the recession has increased the number of unemployed and homeless people, at least based on the report from NHK.

Otherwise, it’s a really good review. Good job on making other people aware about excellent doramas like Yamada Taro Monogatari.

Seen it and its the best~! Its really funny and its absolutely funny. I bought it and lent it to two of my friends and they absolutely adore it xD. It’s a must see.
