Part One of Death Note live-action movie is basically the few episodes (about 12) of Death Note. For those who haven’t seen the anime or read the manga it’s about a boy (Light) who finds a note book (Death Note) which has the power to kill people just by writing the name of a person into the book while picturing their face. Using the book Light kills off criminals in order to create his utopia. I was amazed at how they compressed so much content into 2 hours or so. Although it slightly differs from the anime the main plot sticks fairly close to its animated counterpart. If you’ve seen the anime I would recommend this live action movie just to see the computer generated Ryuk (Shinigami) and L who actually looks like the animated character. As for the main character Light it seems like they just picked a random Japanese actor and dyed his hair orange. If you enjoyed this movie then you should finish it off by watching the part two.

I loved the Death Note Movie, I reckon its probably the best live action anime movie out there. I cant wait for part 2

I think the movie wen’t a little fast and left out some good content but I guess it cant be helped. Good thing is L looks so cool >.

I loved it! I can’t wait for part 2! you wouldn’t happen to know when it will be released, would you? ah well, I love it eventhough it’s slightly different from the anime. Both L and Yagami Raito (light) are amazing actors! ahhhh I can’t wait! must.. have.. my… dosis… of… Death Note… *turns on Death Note music*. bah I’m hopeless lol.

Part 2 is already out, Ive seen it and I can say you might be dissapointed with the ending like many others, though still a very good live-action movie.

I think the movie doesn’t measure up to the original manga. But it is a must-see nonetheless. The actors, music, plot are all great, but like someone said, it was a bit too fast.

I didn’t think the 2nd one was as good as the first, though I did like the ending a lot.

and no I’M ADDICTED TO IT! HAHA!!!

I even ordered for a real Death Note which I can use for school ^_^

I don’t know if this really solves anything but if you go to youtube there’s a user there that posted the entire second movie. I don’t know where you can get it to keep, but this is a great way to get your Death Note fix all the same. How can I get my hands on one of those Death Note notebooks that were mentioned? I would totally love one for school. By the way, the CG in these movies…TOTALLY ROCK!!! Can’t wait ’till ‘L’ (not the final name, just a working title) comes out.

I don’t really like watching anime/live-action stuff off you tube, I like higher quality stuff when it comes to watching content that lasts for a decent amount of time. With regards to the Death Note notebook I’m sure you can get your hands on one through ebay or some other internet shopping site, also if you have a anime/manga shop nearby you could get it from there or get them to order you one.

I’ve just got to say, I’m not dissing the movie, but people should leave anime as it is, let it be itself, people shouldn’t make it into a movie, it changes it. Then the beauty of the anime is ruined, as well as the original idea.

A person, the beauty of an original work can NEVER be ruined. I don’t see what’s wrong with making a movie out of an anime. It’s a unique and creative idea. Hell, I’m sure the live action movie got some people into the original series.

I saw the first part of the movie on may 21 wensday night 7.30pm to 10.00pm 2008 AMC theathers 10 in Texas (i beged my dad to take me) it was amazing i cant wait for the second one aaaaa L is so cute and hot Lights hot but not cute i was laughing wene Light killed his girlfriend i know it`s mean but that is wat Light would have done.It was super funny wene L showed him self to Light grabing a bag of poteto chips from his back i was supprissed that L was wering shoes (L can`t walk right with shoes on) L was draging his feet how cute THE DEATH NOTE MOVIE WAS ASOME (i cant wait to buy the first and second part of the movie ) CAN`T WAIT FOR THE SECOND PART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
