Name: Ichigo Mashimaro
Genre: Comedy
Year: 2005
Rating: Enjoyable
Ichigo Mashimaro follows the daily life of elementary school girls and their older sister figure Nobue. If cuteness was a genre this would fit the classification perfectly. You can tell that the series focuses on cuteness. With a smooth easy on the eye pastel colour range and the constant appearance of cutesy comedy this series would appeal to those who enjoy the more cute side of life. However on the other hand Nobue is highly addicted to cigarettes. So hence we have a story of an older sister trying to afford cigarettes while looking after her younger sister and her friends.

The series has its funny points, each character has their own unique personality and thats what makes this series so great. I guess its good because its a change from the usual “get strong to protect my friends” personality that were so used to seeing. The personalities we see in this series are a more realistic depiction of young children. These children aren’t bothered with fighting invading ninjas but instead can concentrate on the finer arts of childhood. However I’d have to say this isn’t for everybody. The comedy in this may make you smile but it most likely wont make you laugh your ass off. I guess its up to the individual when it comes to more unique content like this. But rest assured there have been many people who really enjoyed this series so it probably wont be a waste of your time if you give it a try.
