I agree with everyone here, the animation was superb, and the story development was excellent. I have to say though that the anime ends earlier and on a different note than the manga. The manga really delves into the bigger story of Clare and the organization, and even of Raki and the other Claymores. Definitely a must-read! But, for all purposes, the anime was marvelous and still one of my all-time faves. Watch it while you still can, it's being slowly but surely pulled off the internet. ;P

I agree the violence is a bonus, its much better than mass censoring hehe. I think I may add one more rating in between enjoyable and recommended as it seems that a few things I'm watching I find quite good but is just off being something really great and of coarse the must see rating is for all those unforgettable animes that you just can't forget.

Comparing this to elfen lied might scare some people off. Yes it is violent and women are the main protagonists, but there are no scenes of brutal violence against children and animals that literally made me cringe and gag like elfen. This is more of your typical sword fighting violence with some dismemberment thrown in (which is a plus not a down). The character development and storyline is very well done. The music as well as the animation is of high quality. Overall, I think this show should be filed under "Highly enjoyable" .

gah i love this show, the design, and setting is awsome and its somewhat like elfen lied with all the female characters with shitty lives and stories, a single guy liking them, the gore (well this show isnt as gory as elfen lied but ya), the organization controlling em to save humanity, and various other things which i can't say or else i might spoil it

Clouds big buster sword is awesome and the claymore swords aren't too shabby either. Quite a good series with lots of slashing and purple blood spewing everywhere.

Yea the action is quite nice and the character design is done well too, they don't hold back much with the violence so thats something extra that you get.
