Based on the manga Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (Hana Kimi) the drama follows the story of Mizuki Ashiya and her relationship with Izumi Sano. Whilst in the U.S Mizuki is one of many who has witnessed Sano’s talent in high jumping. Unfortunatly one night she is attacked by a group of people, Sano just happens to be in the area and saves her. Although Mizuki leaves the incident unscratched, Sano is injured and isn’t able to participate in the sport he loves, high jumping. Although his physical injuries do heal eventually, Sano avoids the sport for various reasons. Having read in the paper about Sano’s misfortune Mizuki decides to travel to Japan with a goal of convincing Sano to jump again. Osaka High is strictly boys only, furthermore the school puts allot of emphasis on its bishonen students. The school is renowned for its attractive students and Sano is by far one of the top picks. In order to return Sano to high jumping Mizuki disguises herself as a male exchange student. Mizuki has to keep her identity secret however at the same time has to fit in with her newly found school and class mates.

Adapted from the Liar Game manga the series tells the story of Kanzaki Nao, an extremely honest collage student. Although she is kind hearted many take advantage of this trait and hence she is quite vulnerable to scams and lies. One day she receives a parcel, inside is one hundred million yen, a letter and a video. The letter reveals that opening the parcel means accepting the offer to participate in the Liar Game Tournament (LGT). The rules of the game are quite simple, players are given a sum of money and within a specified time limit players are to use various methods in obtaining their opponents money. At the end of the game representatives of the LGT collect the original amount given to the player. Therefore if a player had an original amount of one hundred million yen and managed to obtain another hundred million yen, he or she would end up with a profit of one hundred million yen. However on the other the player who had their hundred million yen taken from them would leave the game in debt and would have to repay the company that runs the LGT the amount lost out of their own pocket. Although the rules may be easy to grasp the situation varies as the game progresses. An honest person like Nao doesn’t stand much chance in this game, desperate for help she is lead to seek the assistance of a swindler, Akiyama Shinichi who has just been released from jail.

Set in the year 2075, the development of technology has now enabled the journey into space for mankind an ordinary task. Although traveling to the moon or a space station has become common, it is due to this fact that the problem of space debris has also become an ordinary issue in life. Hence an occupation is formed where groups of individuals work together to collect and sell debris and at the same time remove hazardous objects from space. The crew of DS-12 known as the Toy Box is a section under the Tachnora Corporation that handles depris collection. There are various methods used in disposing objects from space however the essential way is with the use of EVA suits. Whether it is collecting trash from space or preventing a catastrophe the members of the Debris Section each have their own aspirations. Hoshino Hachirouta (Hachimaki) is a member of the Debris Section known as the Half Section. Along with his colleagues he takes upon a salary man approach towards his job as an EVA pilot. However when a newcomer Tanabe arrives he is given the responsibility to teach and look after a new crew member, a task that may not be easily undertaken by this particular character.

In the future after a great disaster, Japan like many other countries has become a desolate land where the surviving humans struggle to adapt and live in the harsh environment. In the Great Kanto Desert the inhabitants seek food and water, although these necessities are hard to come by some make a living by becoming bounty hunters. Desert Punk follows the life of Kanta Mizuno known as Sunabouzu. Known for his ability to accomplish anything he has become renowned as a reputably member of the handyman guild. As a jack of all trades those who belong to the handyman guild make a living through taking requests on various tasks. Though at times the jobs may not be exciting or enjoyable, Kanta meets a variety of people on his travels. There are some that hate him, those who adore him and others who see him as a rival. Nevertheless Kanta is only interested in one thing, money.
